Welcome

Welcome to Claymore Swords Club. Our fencing club is based in the city of Dunedin, New Zealand. Founded in the 1960s, the club has produced national champions and national representatives in men's and women's foil. We cater to all levels and all ages of fencer from beginner to advanced and recreational fencer to serious competitor. Our club is open to anyone with an interest in fencing, and we welcome visitors.

Venue

Claymore Swords Club is now based in a permanent facility on the top floor of the former Forno's Auction House building. The club is fully equiped with CEN Level 1 (350N resistant) protective jackets and masks, weapons and electronic scoring equipment. The training hall currently has four permanent pistes.

The club operates coached classes during the school terms

Tuesdays:

5.30pm - 6.30pm Group Classes - Coach Dave Barson and Coach Fi McMillan

6.30pm - 7.30pm Brand new beginners - Coach Fi McMillan

Thursdays:

5.30pm - 8.30pm Open fencing

Facilities

Club Fees 2011

Club Fees for 2011 are as follows:

$80 per school term (i.e. $320 per year) plus a one-off Fencing New Zealand affiliation fee of $50.
